Batman: Aurora sketch

My time is taken up by a major project at the moment, but I just had to get this drawing out of my system.

It's my attempt to somehow deal with the incident in Colorado. It's a lot to get your head around. The injustice, the senselessness of it. It's sickening.
I keep thinking how unfair it is that in a world where the villains have seemingly invaded reality, none of the heroes are here to save us. Sadder still that we should feel that we need them.
So we turn to art, hoping it will heal our souls and our psyches, if not our society.

For anyone interested in the technical/fandom side, it's not referencing any particular Batsuit. I just cobbled together bits and pieces that I liked and which seemed practical.

Sorry if the composition is similar to any other tributes. The rose seems to be a recurring motif; I was thinking of the Bruce Wayne/Vicki Vale scene from the 1989 film.

Much as I'd love to, I probably won't get around to properly inking this; I'm super busy, so if I ever do, it won't be for a long while. Wanted to post it as it is, just in case I never finish it. Will scrap it soon.
