My entry for the Toshiba 'Seriously Japan' Contest!
My idea was to update Hokusai's Great Wave as a mural at a skate park, so that the skaters look like they're surfing the wave as they skate. Not sure if it really looks like that!
I watched a few Tony Hawk videos for inspiration. I was thinking of people like him, and Dynamo the magician - talented performers who reach out across the world to other people who would otherwise never know about them or see their work. Dynamo got his big break when he won an arts grant and bought himself a laptop.
I guess I'm hoping to similarly reach out to the world through technology - though I'm not as much of a talented performer as those guys!
