Autumn Fire - Kohaku Monogatari promo art

This is a promo image for 'Kohaku Monogatari', the graphic novel I am working on with a writer in the UK

My collaborator asked me to draw something to go on his website, beside a summary of the novel's plot. It made sense to draw each of the main characters he mentioned (left to right: Tomoe, Hutci, and Mizuki; you can find their individual character designs in my gallery).
I have the luxury here of showing it larger than it will appear on the official website; I'll post a link when it goes up.

I promised him some Mucha-style frames and a whole heap of maple leaves, then had to deliver on it (the maple leaves are strangely yellow... maybe it's a maple/gingko hybrid?) Overall I'm pretty freaking proud of it - this is the first time producing art for this project which is past the development stage. If I have my way, there will be plenty more good stuff to come.
